ICAN Requests Insurance Discrimination Stories

The International Cesarean Network has issued a call for personal stories regarding discriminatory insurance practices based on a previous cesarean.

One woman, Peggy Robertson, has already testified before the Senate Health Education Labor and Pensions Committee about her horrifying experience.  Robertson spoke about how she was denied insurance coverage after having a cesarean unless she could provide proof that she had since been sterilized.

If you have experienced discriminatory insurance practices that were related in part to a previous cesarean or know someone who has, please follow this link to learn how sharing your story might positively impact change in this area.
